When a vehicle is involved in a collision, repairing the damage is theoretically quite simple.

It’s based on a relatively straightforward five-step process.

First, the damaged paint is removed from the area to be repaired; the damage is then repaired, sometimes manually using a hammer and chipping hammer, and sometimes using a spotter to reshape the sheet metal; a filler is applied to refine and match the original surface shape; the area is leveled and primed to receive the paint, and then it’s painted.
